Inspired by the apogee of Missy Elliott’s career in the early 2000s, Dizzy Fae builds upon her empowering expression of sexuality and identity in her unapologetic new cut. Lifted from her latest four-track EP, Antenna, “Bend n Snap” toys with seductive whispered vocals around dangerously catchy flows.
Mish-mashing electronica with an audacious R&B undertone, “Bend n Snap” has a profound degree of versatility. Remarking on being a “promiscuous queen” within the first verse, Dizzy Fae harnesses her self-described sex-pop sound to unapologetically make her own rules.
“I think that sex is an important thing to talk about, that doesn’t need to be scary,” she told Best Fit. “It’s just another thing that connects us all.”
Speaking on the EP, also released today, Minnesota-hailing Dizzy says; “Antenna is to call out to all the Dizzerts in the world. I’ve always been the same person but this time it feels a little different. It feels evolved. I want people to feel themselves as they listen to me.”
